Decades of Experience.
Proven Creative Work.
My career in graphic design began in 1992 and spans newspapers, advertising agencies, in-house marketing leadership, and nonprofit brand development. I currently serve as Director of Communications and Storytelling for the Association of Chamber of Commerce Executives, supporting organizations nationwide.
Alongside my professional marketing work, my art practice includes public installations, award-recognized body painting, and community-based creative projects throughout Texas.
A Bit More About The Artist
I was born and raised in Wichita Falls, Texas, where community involvement and volunteer leadership were part of everyday life. My path into design started early. I began working in graphic design in 1992 through my high school newspaper and yearbook, but the interest showed up even sooner. By age five, I was studying magazines, not for the stories, but for the layouts, typography, and visual storytelling. Design was never a hobby. It was always the work.
After high school, I built my foundation in the creative services department of a local newspaper, where I spent more than a decade developing skills in layout, branding, advertising, and production. I later worked with multiple advertising agencies, refining my approach to strategy-driven design and client-focused problem solving. That experience led to a role as Marketing Director for a private company, where I managed media buying, vendor relationships, and in-house marketing operations. In 2018, I joined the local Chamber of Commerce, where my work expanded beyond design into brand leadership, content strategy, and voice development. During that time, we elevated the organization’s brand, marketing presence, and social media engagement across multiple platforms.
That same year, I returned to hands-on art, which opened a new creative chapter. I painted five life-size horse sculptures for public display and developed a focused practice in face and body painting. That work has since grown into event-based face painting, specialty body art, and competition-level creative projects, including award-recognized work in body painting.
Today, I am based in South Texas in the Gulf Coast region of Brazoria County. I work remotely as Director of Communications and Storytelling for the Association of Chamber of Commerce Executives, supporting chambers across the country. Alongside that role, I offer professional face painting for events and select freelance design projects. This site showcases both sides of my work, strategic storytelling and hands-on art, grounded in decades of real-world experience.
